Msahci - Windows Vista Service

MS AHCI 1.0 Standard Driver by Microsoft Corporation.

This service also exists in Windows 7.

Startup Type

Since Msahci is a kernel mode driver, its startup might be configured depending on installed hardware. Changing its startup configuration might cause hardware issues. In the table below you can see how it is configured on my system, but your default settings might differ from mine.

Default Properties

Display name:Msahci

Default Behavior

The Msahci service is a kernel mode driver. If Msahci fails to load or initialize, the error is logged and the computer attempts to restart with the LastKnownGood configuration. If the LastKnownGood configuration fails, Windows Vista startup also fails, and the boot process halts with a Stop error. If you disable this service, Windows Vista will fail to start. Do NOT change this service startup configuration if your computer is working.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
