Default Behavior
The FAT12/16/32 File System Driver service is a file system driver. If FAT12/16/32 File System Driver fails to start, the error is recorded into the Event Log. Windows Vista startup proceeds, but a message box is displayed informing you that the fastfat service has failed to start.
