Bluetooth Handsfree Service - Windows 10 Service

Enables wireless Bluetooth headsets to run on your computer. If this service is stopped or disabled, then Bluetooth headsets will not function properly with this machine.

This service exists in Windows 10 only.

Default Behavior

The Bluetooth Handsfree Service is running as NT AUTHORITY\LocalService in a shared process of svchost.exe. Other services might run in the same process. If Bluetooth Handsfree Service fails to start, the error is logged. Windows 10 startup proceeds, but a message box is displayed informing you that the BthHFSrv service has failed to start.

Dependencies

Bluetooth Handsfree Service is unable to start, if the Bluetooth Support Service is stopped or disabled.

Note. Make sure that the BthHFSrv.dll file exists in the %WinDir%\System32 folder. If this file is missing you can try to restore it from your Windows 10 installation media.
