|Display name:||MS Software Shadow Copy Provider|
The MS Software Shadow Copy Provider service runs as LocalSystem in its own process. It does not share an executable file with other services. If the MS Software Shadow Copy Provider fails to load or initialize, Windows XP start up proceeds. No warning is displayed, but the error is recorded into the Event Log.
MS Software Shadow Copy Provider will not start, if the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service is stopped or disabled.
