Performance Logs and Alerts Collects performance data from local or remote computers based on preconfigured schedule parameters, then writes the data to a log or triggers an alert. If this service is stopped, performance information will not be collected. If this service is disabled, any services that explicitly depend on it will fail to start.
|Windows 8 edition||Windows 8||Windows 8.1||Windows 8.1 Update 1|
|Display name:||Performance Logs & Alerts|
|Path:||%WinDir%\System32\svchost.exe -k LocalServiceNoNetwork|
The Performance Logs & Alerts service runs as NT AUTHORITY\LocalService in a shared process of svchost.exe. Other services might run in the same process. If Performance Logs & Alerts fails to start, the error is logged. Windows 8 startup proceeds, but a message box is displayed informing you that the pla service has failed to start.
Performance Logs & Alerts won't start, if the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service is stopped or disabled.
