The Network Access Protection (NAP) agent service collects and manages health information for client computers on a network. Information collected by NAP agent is used to make sure that the client computer has the required software and settings. If a client computer is not compliant with health policy, it can be provided with restricted network access until its configuration is updated. Depending on the configuration of health policy, client computers might be automatically updated so that users quickly regain full network access without having to manually update their computer.

The Network Access Protection Agent service runs as NT AUTHORITY\NetworkService in a shared process. It shares an executable file with other services. If the Network Access Protection Agent fails to load or initialize, the error is recorded into the Event Log. Windows 7 startup should proceed, but a message box is displayed informing you that the napagent service has failed to start.
Network Access Protection Agent will not start, if the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service is stopped or disabled.
1. Select your Windows 7 edition and Service Pack, and then click on the Download button below.
2. Save the RestoreNetworkAccessProtectionAgentWindows7.bat file to any folder on your hard drive.
3. Right-click the downloaded batch file and select Run as administrator.
4. Restart the computer to save changes.
Note. Make sure that the
qagentRT.dll file exists in the
%WinDir%\system32 folder. If this file is missing you can try to restore it from your Windows 7 installation media.
